You're A Hive Client! The Next Steps In Home Automation

Welcome to Hive, your premier home automation company in Tampa Bay. Now that you’re a client, you’re taking the first steps into the world of home automation!

For those of you who have never been through the process, it can be a little confusing. But don't worry, Hive is here to help get you started. This blog post will walk you through the steps from start to finish.

What Does It Mean To Work With Hive?

At Hive, we are dedicated to giving you the highest quality installation experience. Whether you’re building a new house or outfitting your existing one, everyone on our team is here to help. From our sales representatives to our technicians and programmers, you’ll always have contact with a knowledgable, respectful Hive employee.

What Happens Now?

You signed the contract and now it’s time to meet your project manager! Your project manager will be your main point of contact throughout the installation. They will give you daily updates on the progress along with alerting you to any issues that may arise.

Once the contract has been signed, and the payment approved, the project manager will reach out to you within 24 hours. From there, they will give you tentative date for the beginning of your project.

Note: Project dates are subject to change for reasons including backordered products, inaccessible areas, and construction delays via previous contractors.

Hive has developed a No Surprises Promise to ensure that you are never caught off guard. You'll find a detailed explanation of our policy, as well as our commitment to completing your project on time and within budget.

You’ll receive a copy of this promise at your Swarm Meeting. Your Swarm Meeting is essential to perfecting your dream smart home.

Swarm meetings are an affectionate name for project-kickoff meetings. The purpose of this meeting is to go through, step-by-step, the expectations of the client and what their project proposal and invoice show on their work order and to review the scope of work. Present at the Swarm Meeting is the client, the project manager, and sometimes the sales or the lead technician.

What Will My Service Look Like?

When all parts are ordered and arrive at the warehouse, you can expect your installation to begin soon. A Hive Scheduler will reach out to confirm your start date.

On your start date, you’ll meet with the Hive technicians. Hive’s smart home technicians are professional, tidy, and experts in their fields.

Before the tech’s arrival, you will receive a readiness checklist. This list will help ensure the technician can get right to work on arrival. Steps include; checking for stable internet, moving/covering furniture, and removing old equipment. We broke down our steps in another blog you can check out here

Our technicians always introduce themselves before beginning any work. This way, you can feel safe and comfortable trusting our experienced worker bees. They report to the project manager daily, passing along any crucial information and project updates. You can read more about what to expect from our technicians in our “What Happens When Smart Home Technicians Arrive” blog.

Is There A Warranty On My System?

Of course! Each product has a minimum 1-year warranty set by the manufacturer. Should an issue arise during or after the installation, contact a Hive representative. We’ll troubleshoot the problem, and determine the best course of action, whether it be replacing the product, or updating the system.

For example, any of our architectural speakers, which means any speaker that is mounted inside the drywall of the wall or ceiling, all have lifetime warranties on the products themselves. (But doesn’t cover labor or shipping.)

At some point during your installation, you’ll be contacted regarding our great, new service Hive Care. A never-before-seen service in our industry, Hive Care ensures that your system is working long after we walk out the door.

Think of it as a lawn. Let’s say you pay a landscaper to create a beautiful garden. There are trees, topiaries, and flower beds. Now imagine not touching that garden for 5 years. Or maybe 10 years! Can you imagine how overgrown, dead, and tangled it would look?

That’s where Hive Care comes into play. Instead of letting your system age and fall behind on updates, let Hive monitor your system for you. With our proactive monitoring, we’re guaranteed to catch and fix issues before you’re even aware there is one.

Check out our Hive Care page, and our several blogs, dedicated to our four levels of amazing service. Made to fit any system no matter the complexity, our service plans will always have your back.
